Pre-Registration for GN Events

For 2024, the NTPA will require online entry in advance for Grand National classes. This policy applies to all such classes whether they appear at Super, Grand, or Regional National events and to all vehicles whether registered at any level (Grand National, Regional National, or Non-Points) or provisionally registered for the event (i.e., “Per-Hooked”).

Online entry will close on the Monday prior to the start time of the first session of each event that includes GN classes. (Exception: Benson, NC, entry will close Tuesday, as that Monday is Memorial Day.) This deadline schedule is as follows; the four required steps to complete event entry follow the table.

Step 1: Create a Trackside Account in the Driver’s Name (one time only).

One is required for each Driver. (If you practiced with Trackside in 2023, you probably completed this step.)

Step 2: License or per-hook the Driver (one time only) and register or per-hook the Vehicle (one time only).

If you have already completed a 2024 Competitor License application and a 2024 Vehicle Registration at any level, your info will be imported from the office. Otherwise, complete the appropriate license, registration, or per-hook forms and add them to your Shopping Cart. (Per-hooks will be charged at the time of each class entry.)

Step 3: Add each Vehicle to each Driver’s Garage (one time only).

Select each Vehicle, one at a time, that will be driven by that Driver and add it to that Driver’s Garage. A Vehicle may be added to more than one Garage so it can be driven by more than one Driver.

Step 4: Enter the Driver-Vehicle Combination into a Class (once for each class; entry opens May 17).

From the menu provided, select an Event and Session, and then select a Class (by Division) that the Driver wishes to enter. You may then select a Vehicle to enter from the Driver’s Garage. Add the Entry fee for the Class entered to the Shopping Cart and check out. Multiple Class Entries may be purchased in a single transaction for a given Driver.

Refunds for scratches, rainouts, etc. will be processed by the NTPA office where applicable. It is advised that Classes in which participation is uncertain should be entered to secure a lineup position.

Bull SnotTrackside Memberships Open and Available

The NTPA’s new membership portal has been activated as of May 1.

The NTPA Trackside Systems site currently consists of several menus. Of current interest are the Membership menu, which contains all of the digital application forms, and the Log In menu, which may be selected to start the account creation process.

This portal may be reached in several ways from NTPAPULL.com:

  • Click any “Enter the Trackside Portal” button found in the Membership section of the Competitors menu to go to the portal’s main page.
  • Click the Member Login button at top right of the NTPAPULL.com home page to go directly to the Log In menu.
  • Click the Competitor License, Crewperson License, and Vehicle Registration links in the Competitors menu to go directly to the Membership menu.
  • To bookmark the site directly, save ntpa.tracksideapp.com in your browser.

If you have already completed your 2024 license(s) and registration(s) by previous methods (submission of paper forms or digital forms), you need not re-submit your applications in Trackside for this year. You will, however, need to create an account in order to enter events online in 2024 and online entry is a requirement for Grand National classes.

The prefill forms, links to which were sent out in November 2023, have been disabled and may no longer be used. All future memberships must be completed using the Trackside site.

If you are new to NTPA or do not have a prefill URL for the previous digital forms, you must complete your 2024 membership documents via Trackside or paper forms which may be downloaded from NTPAPULL.com. Submitting paper documents by mail will delay the processing of your membership.

Note: Account creation is required in order to access the license and registration forms. Creating an account is not the same as completing a form; all drivers must be licensed (or per-hooked) and all vehicles must be registered (or per-hooked) in order to enter any NTPA sanctioned event.

Once online entry opens in mid-May, the main page of the Trackside portal will display Super and Grand National events into which competitors may enter.

Fair Valley PerformanceWhat is GN Select?

On its Schedule and online entry pages, the NTPA refers to several events and classes as "Grand National Select," which is indicated symbolically with an asterisk (*).

This designation and symbol indicates that competitor entry into such an event is restricted in some way. That is, in addition to a full-year or provisional ("per-hook") driver license/vehicle registration, there exists some other condition(s) that must be met before a competitor may participate.

Such requirements may include participation in the GN free-entry program, possession of a point standings position at or above a particular threshold as of a certain date, promoter invitation, or a combination thereof.

"Ideally, every event would be wide open and able to accept any puller who meets the competition and safety requirements for their chosen division," said Gregg Randall, the NTPA's Executive Director. "And we have several such events on our schedule. But the space limitations of certain sites and the circumstances of some facilities---county fairs, curfews, etc.---do not allow for an exceedingly long or heavily attended show.

"We believe GN Select is a fair compromise to allow those who are chasing a title or those with a special relationship with the event to know they can participate."

The requirements may vary at different points of the season. For example, a vehicle may be entered into the GN Select Two-Wheel-Drive Truck classes at Farley, Iowa in June if and only if the vehicle is GN-registered. Meanwhile, the GN Select classes at Chapel Hill, Tennessee in July (SSD, PS, FWD, MINI, and UNL) and at Napoleon, Ohio in August (SSD, PS, TWD, FWD, MINI) will require a free-entry contract, a top-15 point standings position, or invitations by the respective promoters.

Competitors who are interested in pulling in Two Wheel Drive at Farley must register or upgrade their vehicles' registration level to GN by noon on Monday, June 3, at which time Farley event entry will close.

Midwest WheelInaugural Schreier Memorial Cup to Honor Top Puller in Tomah SSD

The Budweiser Dairyland NTPA Super Nationals has unveiled its tribute to two of the event's founders in a most appropriate way: An award to be presented in recognition of the weekend's toughest puller.

The 2024 Dave and Dick Schreier Memorial Cup will pay a $5,000 bonus to the Tomah Super Stock Diesel champion over the course of its June 20-22 run. Sponsors of this prize include Cen-Pe-Co Lubricants, Enderle Fuel Injection, G. Stone Motors, the Norwalk Lions Club, the Monroe County Agricultural Society, and S&S Distributing.

"The Schreier Brothers were instrumental in the event’s infancy," began Gregg Randall, the NTPA's Executive Director. "Without their tireless contributions over the course of its history, Tomah would not have become the spectacle that it is today."

Dave Schreier served for decades as the chairman of Tomah's Pull Committee and won the 1980 NTPA Grand National Super Stock title. Dick Schreier directed the pull’s track construction and maintenance to cement the Recreation Park strips' reputation as some of the GN circuit's most challenging surfaces.

Elder brother Dick and younger brother Dave were lost to the Schreier family and to the pulling world within weeks of each other in the late autumn of 2023.

"These men combined for nearly 100 years' worth of inspiration and perspiration towards the event in their native Monroe County," Randall noted. "They guided and grew the pull for both the benefit of the greater Tomah community and the sport of professional tractor and truck pulling through the NTPA brand."

The Tomah weekend champion is the competitor or team whose vehicle earns the best average finish over the division's two hooks. Ties are broken in order of greatest total credited distance.

In future years, the honor will rotate among the event's participating Grand National divisions.

"Those remaining caretakers of the event and sport will continue to build upon the legacy of Dave and Dick Schreier, and this award will place a remembrance of their great contributions for future pullers and fans to appreciate and acknowledge."

Riverside Engines$30,000 Hot Shot’s Secret Challenge Returns for Season Two

For a second season, Hot Shot's Secret of Mt. Gilead, Ohio will present a bonus series for NTPA Grand National competitors in all 13 premier-level divisions.

The Hot Shot's Secret Challenge will distribute in excess of $30,000 at season's end to those in each division who are among the top three point-earners across five participating events: The GALOT Motorsports Park Mule City 300 in Benson, North Carolina (May 31-June 1), the Farley Nationals in Farley, Iowa (June 7-8), the Budweiser Dairyland NTPA Super Nationals in Tomah, Wisconsin (June 20-22), the North Iowa Nationals in Rockwell, Iowa (August 1-3), and the National Tractor Pulling Championships in Bowling Green, Ohio (August 15-17). Challenge winners will be announced from the Pulltown winners circle.

Each division will have between six and 10 opportunities to earn Challenge points: Light Super Stock (8), Super Stock Diesel (6), Super Stock Open (8), Super Farm (6), Pro Stock (10), Two Wheel Drive (8), Four Wheel Drive (10), Super Stock Diesel 4x4 (6), Super Semi (8), Modified Mini (8), Light Modified (8), Modified (6), and Unlimited (6).

To be eligible for a payout to the top three point earners in each division, a vehicle must be registered for the 2024 Grand National series and prominently bear the Hot Shot's Secret point fund decals on both sides.

logoOhio Corn & WheatEnderle Pull-Off Qualifying

The National Tractor Pullers Association has established the qualifying paths for the Regional National session of the 2024 Enderle Memorial Pull-Off. The event, held Saturday, September 14 in Urbana, Ohio, will invite 45 RN-registered vehicles from 12 divisions to Session One and 65 Grand National vehicles from 13 divisions to Session Two.

While most Enderle berth paths track with regional or subregional championship circuits, it is important to note that Enderle standings differ from championship standings because of wraparound events: 2023 Allegan, Medina, Centreville, Hillsdale, and Raleigh count toward the 2024 Enderle, while 2024 Allegan, New Alexandria, Centreville, Hillsdale, Lancaster, and Raleigh will count toward the 2025 Enderle.

The participating RN divisions and number of qualifiers are as follows: Limited Light Super Stock Tractors (3), Classic Super Stock Tractors (3), Super Farm Tractors (4), Light Pro Stock Tractors (4), 4.1 Pro Stock Tractors (3), Hot Farm Tractors (3), Two-Wheel-Drive Trucks (5), Four-Wheel-Drive Trucks (3), Super Stock Four-Wheel-Drive Trucks (4), Pro Stock Diesel 4×4 3.0 Trucks (4), Modified Minis (4), and Modifieds (5).

Modern Machine and ToolPoints Fund

The National Tractor Pullers Association has significantly increased its National Point Fund payouts for top finishers in 2024 at both the Grand and Regional National levels. The move, which amounts to over $115,000 in supplemental year-end payouts above the 2023 totals, arises from agreements with a wave of new corporate partners including four new National Series, six GN Divisional, and two Region sponsors.

Overall payout to competitors who place in the top 10 in Grand National points races will be augmented by at least $80,000, while Regional National champions and high finishers will collectively see a $35,000 bounce. These numbers equate to bumps of more than $6,000 per GN class and $1,000 per RN class.

Additional point-fund money may be designated for distribution to either or both competition levels if more sponsors are signed.

“Entirely new sectors of the business community—those related to agriculture, high performance, and our competitors themselves—have been mined as never before and exposed to the great NTPA Championship Pulling product,” noted Gregg Randall, the NTPA’s Executive Director. “We are beyond excited that our pullers can share in the benefits of providing our fans and event promoters with thrilling shows of outstanding quality that have generated such interest in the corporate world.”

As of this writing, Beck’s Hybrids, WIX Filters, Cow Tales Candy, and the U.S. Army have joined Case IH, Hot Shot’s Secret, MAC Trailer, Enderle Fuel Injection, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Ag Protect 1 Insurance, Cen-Pe-Co Lubricants, and AKE/STOP-FYRE as National Series Sponsors.

Among the GN divisions, Hi Torque (Super Farm) and Doctor Preload (Super Semi) have returned, while NewFields Ag (Super Stock Diesel), Yoder Popcorn (Pro Stock), CM Pulling Tires (Two Wheel Drive), and GMS Manufacturing & Machine (Light Modified) are new in 2024. And TerraMax and Pro Puller Tires will sponsor the entire Region III and Region IV circuits, respectively.

“It’s a hearty ‘Welcome Back’ to Cow Tales, which was with us for a stint in seasons past, and a ‘Welcome Aboard’ to so many newcomers,” Randall effused. “And we are so appreciative of those sponsors who first bought into the NTPA mission years or even decades ago.

“Along with their funding, several of these partners will be sending representatives to meet with our event announcers, our competitors, and our fans,” Randall added. “When you see a sponsor’s logo on a polo shirt, please take a moment to thank them for their involvement.

“More importantly, use those logos on shirts, signs, or banners as a guide when choosing with whom to do business.”
